Starlight Mints

If you live in Norman, consider yourself a music fan, and aren't familiar with the Mints, then you really need to start paying attention. I can say with a fair amount of certainty that they are the town's most successful band. Allan Vest and company craft their own brand of candy-pop magnificence that transcends genres like few others can. Their music is full of rich string arrangements, psychedelic ambiance, and foot-pounding pop conventionality. I think their label Barsuk says it best when they describe the Mints as 'bubblegum psych.' I seriously can't gush enough about Starlight Mints.
