Dorian is easily one of Oklahoma's hidden treasures. If Beck and The Beatles had a child and bathed it everyday in Brian Wilson's rehab sweat it would make this music. It is so wonderfully intricate and familiar all at once. Dorian is an impressively versatile musician and a passionate artist, but even more impressive is his band. You've got Jarod Handrich [Tincture, Bridge Road Caravan] on guitar and bass, Ryan Jones [The Ills] on keys piano and samples, and Scott Merrick, who is among the most engaging drummers I have ever known. The band recently acquired the help of Jarod's brother Aaron Handrich, who has already started playing live shows. Dorian's first album, Contradictions, was a local hit, and he has a new album in the works that should see post-production in the next few months.
